VIDEO: Scene Building with Stamped Images and Diecuts

Channin Pelletier

Hello, everyone! Channin here, and I’m beyond excited to be back on the blog! This time, I’m sharing a stunning card that blends stamped images and die cuts to create a beautifully layered scene. To bring this design to life, I’ll be showcasing the gorgeous new products from the April Card Kit of the Month —and trust me, you won’t want to miss it!

Check out the video below to get a full look at everything included in the kit and watch as I craft a lush forest scene using a mix of stamping and die-cutting techniques. Hope you enjoy!

To create this card I first trimmed down some of the green (Rainforest) cardstock included in the kit to 4.25" x 5.5". I then stamped onto the panel with the large terrarium scene stamp from the Terrarium Clear Stamp Set in Moss Core Ink. Next, I stamped the frog and the tree stump in INTENS-ified Black Ink onto white cardstock. I then colored the images in with copic markers and then die cut them out with the coordinating dies.

Next I die cut some leaves, grass/moss, and a fern out of the dark green (Fern) cardstock with dies from the Terrarium Fancy Die Set. I then ink-blended the diecuts with Forever Green Core Ink to add shape and shading. Next, I die cut the soil layer out of the tan (Fawn) cardstock. I then ink-blended the soil with Sand Core Ink. Next, I traced the around the soil diecut onto the brown (Truffle) cardstock and then fussy cut the layer out. I then adhered the two soil layers together and then adhered the grass/moss.

Next, I colored the white board around the frog and tree stump diecut with copic markers to match the background. I then adhered the images as well as the leaves diecuts to the grass/soil layer. Next, I stamped a sentiment in Unicorn Pigment Ink onto Pitch Black cardstock. I then pour white embossing powder over and then heat set. Next, I die cut the sentiment out with the matching die and then adhere it and the other diecuts to the stamped green panel. Lastly, I finished the card by adhering the panel to the front of an A2 top-folding white card base.

I hope you enjoyed my card and video. Thank you so much for stopping by!!
